Over their 60-year history, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) has invested over one billion dollars in research and cancer treatments. Our local LLS New Mexico - El Paso Chapter had another record-breaking year, distributing more than $345,000 in co-pay assistance to patients.
Our fundraising team at Dekker/Perich/Sabatini had fun hosting our 2nd Annual Light the Night Golf Tournament at Paa-ko Ridge, and we also had an in-house "Hot Dog and Bingo" fundraiser. Thanks to everyone who participated in our charity golf tournament and bingo lunch, we were able to contribute $28,279 to the cause.
We truly appreciate the people and companies who sponsored and played at our tournament to support the ongoing research and treatments LLS provides to the 156,000 people diagnosed with blood cancer in the United States each year.
And to see how your contributions are helping, take a look at this recent article about how doctors used gene editing therapy to save two baby girls with leukemia.
We have already started planning our fundraiser for the 2017 LLS Light the Night event, which brings together communities to find cures for cancer and celebrate, remember, and support those whose lives have been touched by cancer. We're looking forward to seeing everyone again at our 2017 Charity Golf Tournament on Friday, October 6, 2017!
