Andrew Grundstrom

Andrew’s mom was an interior designer, his dad a product designer. So, it’s no surprise he ended up in a career that brings together design and technical solutions. Growing up he was mesmerized by floor plans and how all the pieces fit together. Starting college, he faced a choice between mechanical and architectural engineering: “I made the right decision!”

Andrew is most moved by getting to see people enjoy the spaces he helps create, keeping him grateful for the work he does. He also enjoys working alongside architects and seeing the structure integrate with and complement the architectural vision for each project. Andrew has been with DPS his entire career, watching his colleagues learn, grow, and rise to greater heights. He aims to mentor the next generation, helping them achieve the ambitious dreams they have: innovations in seismic design, sustainable and green initiatives, and more.

Andrew and his family love all things sports. Baseball (and the San Fransico Giants) is a favorite, and a bucket list item is visiting every MLB stadium. He and his wife have reached 8 so far. Kids’ sports and activities for his 3 children, along with involvement in his church, are a big part of his life outside work.
