Founding Principal / Architect

Steve Perich | Architect | Dekker/Perich/Sabatini

Steven J. Perich, Founding Principal and Managing Partner of D/P/S, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2019. Those who have had the honor of working with Steve know that integrity, compassion, and dedication were the hallmarks of his character, and what made him such a great gift to the community on which he had such an incredible impact.

Steve truly enjoyed his chosen profession as an architect and CEO at D/P/S. Along with Principal staff, he expertly guided the strategic direction for the firm. In addition to his various management duties, he took pleasure in being personally involved in a few selected projects at any given time.

Staying engaged in the design process kept him current to the ever-changing challenges of the industry, and was something he found personally fulfilling. He took great pride in seeing the firm of talented individuals he worked with play a key role making clients’ dreams come true. In 2015, he was recognized as New Mexico’s top CEO in the business services category.

With our memories of him, and his teachings in mind, our future is bright and our purpose is set on a great foundation. In honor of Steve, the Dekker/Perich/Sabatini family will continue on our course of providing excellence in all we do for our profession, the industry, clients, and our community.

Steve’s spirit and contributions as a friend, partner, and mentor will live on in each of us and throughout the community on which he had such an incredible impact. We owe him a debt of gratitude for his legacy, which has formed all that D/P/S is, and has achieved.

The Steven J. Perich Memorial Fund has been created to financially assist worthy students, who are pursuing a career in architecture.
