NM Game & Fish Albuquerque Area Office

The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish has embarked on an ambitious effort to change area office operations, shifting focus from strictly administrative environments to multi-purpose wildlife conservation education destinations.

The Albuquerque location is energy and water efficient and meets the standards for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold Green Building Rating Systemâ„¢ certification.

The facility provides increased classroom and open space to conduct hunting, fishing, and other outdoor recreational skills-based training. By incorporating energy saving and environmentally-friendly design features - such as solar energy systems, rainwater catchment and storage, and highly efficient LED lighting - the new facility will serve as a showcase to educate visitors about LEED certified design and the importance of responsible natural resource stewardship. In the future, the Department will carry the same concepts forward in locations across the state.
