Maricopa County Administrative Building Renovation

This project consolidates Maricopa County staff and services to better serve the community. By relocating the county’s permitting departments, the renovation creates a one-stop shop for county residents, developers, and contractors. Staff access to the building remained intact during the phased construction.

The design upholds civic ideals. Upper floor lobbies are consistent and identifiable by historic imagery and wayfinding, making it easy for both employees and the public to navigate the facility. The lobby area is secure and easily monitored, boosting community engagement without sacrificing safety. With enclosed workspaces located in the same interior zones on each floor, the predominantly open office environment provides access to daylight and views.

The facility includes a new conference center, an enlarged fitness center, and upgrades to support spaces. Enhanced building services include energy efficient lighting and upgrades to the technology infrastructure.
