Downtown Los Angeles Medical Office Building
The Downtown Los Angeles Clinic is 60,000sf between four floors, occupying an entirely new downtown building, purpose-built for this tenant.
DPS developed design strategies that optimized operational flow and staff efficiency. Utilizing methods like design charrettes and full-scale, cardboard mockups we helped facilitate the design process and engage users in visualizing the final product. Implementing evidence-based design strategies enabled a close working relationship across the entire team and resulted in the ability to make durable, design decisions that were carried through the project.
The program includes outpatient and specialty care, lab services, CT and Xray, and a 24-hour urgent care center with a mission explicitly focused on intercepting patients who might otherwise end up in the emergency department or hospital.
The clinic module is based on separate patient corridors and staff work areas, each entering the exam rooms via separate sliding doors.
DPS designed the interior buildout, and provided architectural and interior design services.
