Experienced Healthcare Architect/Designer

Licensed architect or seasoned designer who has at least 15 years of experience in healthcare architecture. Candidates must be able to use their knowledge of healthcare processes, codes, technical abilities, and communication skills to collaborate and oversee a skilled project team while mentoring interns and production staff. Candidates would play a key role in creating progressive healthcare facility designs backed by the support of a multidisciplinary firm that has been a serving the communities we work in for over 60 years.

Your Role on Our Healthcare Design Team

• Be a key part of DPS as we step into our next phase of growth and evolution in healthcare design
• Lead Client-based teams through all phases of a healthcare project’s development
• Work directly with Clients and end Users to develop and refine programming, campus and department planning, and detailed department and room functional planning.
• Capability to plan and design inpatient and outpatient departments
• Knowledge of essential metrics for a wide spectrum of healthcare projects
• Work with clients to improve their process and flow
• Maintain and build Client-based institutional knowledge
• Mentor and teach staff, and build the overall capacity of the firm’s healthcare team
• Be engaged in continual research, teaching, and dialog on the state-of-the-art in healthcare
• Lead pursuits of new projects, Clients, and Markets
• Engage and participate firm-wide in projects across multiple offices

Your qualifications

• Licensed Architect/Seasoned Designer
• NCARB certificate is highly valued
• 15+ years in healthcare facilities planning and design
• Healthcare-specific credentials are highly valued: ACHA, EDAC, or other
• LEED or WELL AP is a plus
• Knowledgeable and experienced with one or more healthcare-specific design criteria:
  • USP 797 & 800, OSPD 1,2,3, NFPA 101, FGI, LEAN, state-based standards
• Acute behavioral health experience a plus- inpatient or outpatient
• Strong graphic communicator- hand sketching, software, or otherwise. Bluebeam at plus.
