Mimi Burns, a principal and landscape architect at Dekker/Perich/Sabatini, has earned the SITES Accredited Professional (SITES AP) credential administered through the Sustainable SITES Initiative (SITES). SITES is a sustainability-focused project certification system designed to protect, enhance, and regenerate ecosystem services for built landscapes that benefit people and the environment.
Burns has a passion for creating memorable, healthy places for people that connect them to local history, culture, the natural environment and their neighbors. For almost three decades, she has advocated for evidenced-based sustainable and regenerative planning and design solutions that get people outside and connected to nature, and that provide long-term benefits for clients and communities. Recently completed work includes the courtyard and site work at Hotel Chaco, the ART streetscape, the Rio Grande Bosque Access Improvements, Santa Fe Medical Center healing gardens, and the Central New Mexico Community College Wellness Path.
