Today’s Student Housing is a critical piece of the campus life experience. Creating a ‘sense of place’ that encourages student learning, promotes a variety of social interaction, and a feeling of comfort and safety greatly enriches the quality of campus life.
The level of knowledge and understanding of a campus, combined with the eventual realization of how a new project is integrated into a comprehensive master plan is critical. Some key challenges to Student Housing design include:

- promoting social interaction
- recruitment and retention of students

- minimizing the impacts of on-going building maintenance
