St. Francis Episcopal Church

Adorers Chapel | Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe | Santa Maria de la Vid Church | Calvary of Albuquerque | Green Valley Presbyterian Church | St. Francis Episcopal Church | Grace Lutheran Church | St. Michael & All Angels Episcopal Church

This parish was housed in a temporary portable building and required a totally new facility. The program called for a 300 seat church, offices, parish hall, chapel, education, and nursery, and music practice rooms.

Designed to surround an entry courtyard, the design embraces the landscape vista of the Sandia Mountains to the east. A prayer labyrinth is to be installed in the courtyard. The church is aligned with the main building entrance and has been designed as a warm inviting space through use of brick, wood, and natural light. Abundant natural light enters through clearstory and apse windows. Custom designed liturgical furniture sets off the chancel.

Robert Habiger was the designer of altar, lecturn, celebrant chair, and baptismal font.
