Albuquerque Mayor & USBGC President Celebrate Double LEED Gold Office Building

Dekker/Perich/Sabatini’s office in the Jefferson Green building has earned a rare double LEED Gold certification, earning attention from both local government and the national U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). Albuquerque Mayor Martin Chavez and USGBC President Rick Fedrizzi praised the building’s achievements and presented the project owners with two LEED Gold plaques at a ceremony and reception on August 6th. Rick Davis of R. Davis Companies and Dale Dekker of Dekker/Perich/Sabatini accepted the plaques on behalf of the entire team, which included Enterprise Builders, Yearout Mechanical, and Chaparral Electric.
The architecture firm focused on sustainability in the design of the 85,000sf Jefferson Green office building and their own 35,000sf office space within the building. Jefferson Green was awarded Gold under LEED for Core and Shell Development in March 2007, and the D/P/S office was awarded Gold under LEED for Commercial Interiors in June 2007.
Jefferson Green was designed to use 45% less energy and 30% less water than a typical office building. D/P/S added to this sustainable foundation in the design of their office space, selecting finishes, furniture, and an open layout concept that reinforced the use of daylight, views, and sustainable materials.
