Dekker/Perich/Sabatini has designed early learning/early childhood education environments for varying programs such as Head Start, Montessori, and public school pre-K, as well as for church-based child centers, YMCA centers, and retail playrooms. We have also designed unique, specialized early childhood centers such as a multi-sensory preschool for the New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired and Rachel’s Courtyard, a playground in the sky for children receiving medical care at Presbyterian Hospital. We understand the standards and best practices to create safe and supportive environments for young children, and our multi-disciplinary approach considers both interior and exterior spaces as learning environments. We create renderings and budgets to help our clients obtain funding and approvals, and look for special design moments that connect functional needs with a larger vision of creating spaces that inspire children to learn through play.
